Grimnirsmoot

We are excited to announce the first Asatru UK event since lockdown! Situated on the outskirts of Birmingham the site is booked exclusively for Asatru UK! Ideal for the family friendly (and dog friendly) event we are intending to hold. This entire event will be centred around the consecration of the Odin Godpole, the first addition to the portable Vé project and the first step on the long road to a Heathen temple. The usual AUK camping activities are to be expected such as communal cooking and cleaning, blots and sumbels, talks and workshops but this year also we have managed to secure a large marquee and bar for the use of our attending members aswell as beautiful festoon lighting to ensure we can all see each other as night draws in. The site offers a 4 birth toilet block and a disabled toilet, drinking water and washing water and special access to a kitchenette at request. Exterior tables and benches. Fire pits and communal gathering areas and is totally dog friendly.

FOOD

Friday 17th: Lunch Dinner

Saturday 18th: Breakfast Lunch Dinner

Sunday 19th: Breakfast Lunch

We strive to cater for all dietary requirements but to do so we need to be made aware of them. Please PM me or another KIN member directly to ensure your dietary needs are met. Part of the communal food payment is the promise to muck in with cooking, prepping and cleaning aswell as enjoying the food. We are hoping that as always this event is relaxing and helps to strengthen our happy little community as much as possible and to help one another make long last friendships. This is one of our very favourite events of the year where we can practice our beliefs and discuss our faith either by a roaring fire under the night sky or over a plate of food created and enjoyed by all of us.

Travel Don’t drive? Well don’t worry A plan is in place for members of the Asatru UK team to collect heathens who cannot drive from the nearest train station.

Blot and Sumbel It wouldn’t be a Heathen event without Heathen rituals. All our blots will take place in the sacred Vé and lead by some of the most experienced ritual leaders, Gothar and Gythia we know.

*Friday Opening ceremony - a blot to the gods and the land wights to bless the vé and ask their favour for the event

*Saturday Children’s blot - lead by some of our budding mini heathens using home made sima as the sacred libation

Sumbel - a public sumbel held in the marquee to toast and boast in front of the gods and also build frith and friendship with one another

Grimnirsblot - watch this space

*Sunday Closing ceremony - a blot of thanks to the gods and wights for their good favour and fortune

More information and updates will occur between now and then along with many more exciting announcements. Any additional enquiries and requests please direct to a member of the KIN or the event organisers.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
