Snowdonia - YHA Kings, Kings Youth Hostel, Islawr-dref, Dolgellau LL40 1TB, UK

About the event

Asatru UK are excited to announce our next event the Winter Nights Moot!

Located in the beautiful and mystical mountains of Snowdonia, join us for a weekend of excursions, feasting, ritual and frith building!

*The Property

Set in a wonderfully rural location, Kings hostel accommodation is basic, safe, very clean, warm, tidy and welcoming. A perfect base for both relaxation and adventure

Although the setting is magnificent, please remember that Kings is a 3 star hostel, not a luxury hotel or deluxe cottage

Surrounded by Snowdonia National Park, there are large private grounds for guests to enjoy. The garden is suitable for sports, bonfires, barbeques and even a refreshing dip in their spectacular mountain stream!

*Getting here

LL40 1TB, but please don’t rely on Sat Nav. The hostel is signposted from the A493 Penmaenpool

The road to the hostel is unsuitable for HGV’s - we recommend nothing larger than a minibus

*Arrival

Check-in is contactless. The hostel will be ready for us from 16:00hrs - 27.10.2022

There are two car parks. The largest is on the left as you approach, next to the annexe (see below) and has space for around 10 cars or 3 minibuses. The second car park is beyond the main building (see below) and has room for 4 cars or 1

minibus

Both car parks are approximately 50m from the main building front door

Please make sure that you have the front door code, which we will have provided in advance

All bedroom keys and hostel information will be left at reception

*Departure

Please leave by 10:00hrs on your day of departure, so that we can guarantee deep cleaning between all bookings

*Staffing

The event is unstaffed by the site but obviously members of the AUK committee and events team will be present

The Hostel manager may stay on site in a separate self-contained flat and is available in the case of emergencies only

*Housekeeping

Please remember to bring your own towels, toiletries and first aid kit

The site will provide all your bedding

New bed linen can be provided for stays of more than 7 days

The site will provide cleaning products

Please leave the hostel clean and tidy, take only photographs and memories and leave only footprints.

*Catering

The booking is self-catering, which means communal food preparation. We are providing food and drinks in the ticket price, but not including alcoholic drinks BYOM (Bring your own Mead)

We will, of course, have 24 hour access to the self-catering facilities

*Technology

Due to the mountainous location, there is no mobile service at Kings. There is a payphone

Free Wi-Fi is available in the lounge / dining room, kitchen and reception

The rural location means that Wi-Fi can be slow and intermittent

There is no TV reception or DVD player at Kings

You may wish to bring a torch if you’re thinking of having an evening bonfire or staying out late
